Tracking and Finding Discussions by Reputation Management

July 23, 2012

Many sites on the Internet today, provide the opportunity to track a person’s reputation, and even improve it. When people Google your name, they take the results at face value and judge you on that information, even if it’s untrue (or about someone else). Once something negative is posted online about you it’s there forever, slowly eroding your reputation and limiting your opportunities for a better life. Reputation Management is actually tracking and finding what is being discussed about your site and where so that you can respond. This way you manage your site’s reputation and can promote public relation. There are some reputation management tools out there where some are free but most are paid. I am yet to see a good reputation management tool that is free. You can have a setup where anytime someone posts something about your site anywhere on the web, you will be notified. You also can setup Google alert with your site name or domain URL to get notifications. One issue with Google alert is that it sends out lot if irrelevant notifications.
